I want to know, what are your 2022 goals? What if you could accomplish something you NEVER thought was possible? What if you climbed a mountain you thought was out of reach? What if you attended your first powerlifting meet and hit PRs? What if you accomplished a goal like the StrongFirst Sinister? What if you pushed yourself outside your comfort zone and did things you never thought were within reach? What if you achieved your body composition goals? What if you fit into a pair of jeans you always wanted?
What if you put yourself and your HEALTH first? Where would you be at the end of 2022?
What if you accomplished something that you never thought was possible? There is NO FAILURE when it comes to training and health. It’s a process. A journey. A commitment to the ONE BODY AND ONE LIFE you have.
At ANCHOR, we are a STRENGTH-focused gym. We want to keep you strong. After age 30, you lose 3-5% of muscle per decade. Imagine what happens if you DO NOTHING to maintain it. Imagine the bone loss as well. When you lose strength, you lose power (think of being able to do things quickly). Falling without enough strength and bone mass leads to hip fractures, hospital stays, and doctor visits. But, if you stay strong, you will be better off.
Strength gyms can often be looked at as boring. It’s the same $h*t over and over again to get results. It isn’t usually what people are attracted to. People want that fun, circus-looking stuff. Which it is is fun and a great way to mix it up. But, doing sessions like that for an extended period of time DOES NOT lead to strength and ends up leading to injuries and feeling beat up. These circus-like workouts can’t be continued for the long haul.
As 2021 comes to a close, I want you to start thinking about your 2022 goals. What do you want to accomplish? How much time will you put into the plan to get the RESULTS you are looking for? Are you willing to get into the gym four days a week instead of 3? Are you ready to go in when you would rather stay on the couch and drink warm coffee on a cold January morning?
What will you do in 2022 for the ONE BODY and ONE LIFE you got?
Here’s to a STRONG 2022!
Charlene
