2025 Important Updates!!!!

We are well into 2025… the year of CHANGE at ANCHOR. 

We kicked off this New Year with a pop up hike for all (including the kids and pups). It was an awesome turnout on a pretty cold day.

The team has been working hard behind the scenes to get our new system (the one you will use come March to sign up for classes). Once things are ready, we will be sure you are all set and know how to sign up for classes. As soon as I can get the details, we will have plenty of ways for you to learn the system!  

WHY are we making this CHANGE?! For years (since 2016) we have been using multiple software systems (Mindbody and Others) to make this place run. However, the back end hasn’t always been fun. None of the systems play nice with others which has led to too many hours and headaches wasted on silly computer stuff instead of the IMPORTANT THINGS!  Now, we will have ONE system that is supposed to work together, make our lives easier so we don’t have to spend so much time in front of a computer screen (which I hate anyway 😉

Now, let’s get to some updates for events and fun things:

Book Club: We will continue our Book Club this year. The first book, The Let Them Theory by Mell Robbins. So, grab the book and start reading and the date for Book Club #1 will be out soon!

Women’s Self Defense Class: Saturday, February 15th at BJJ Squared at 11:30AM. Registration will open soon and we will send out an email. It will be $10.00/person which BJJ Squared donates to their local charity.

Location is: 107 Willow St., Toughkenamon, 

Weekend Coffee Talk: We are going to have weekend coffee and start with it quarterly. It will be after class on either a Saturday or Sunday. I’ll grab the coffee. 

What is the purpose of this? 

  • An opportunity to meet other gym members who may not be in your typical time slot.
  • For me to update you on new events, classes, changes, etc.
  • For me to talk about our philosophy and WHY. Great opportunity for those that are newer to our community to get an idea of why I program the way I do, my thoughts behind strength, nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Connect you to other area professionals that are outside my scope of practice; if needed. 
  • Time with our community so that while you are doing a 1 Rep Max, I’m not making you laugh 🙂 

Pop Ups: 

  • I love pop ups. We had a great NYE class. The next one will be this month and it will be a SWING EMOM (every minute on the minute). It will be open to all members, even if not doing the 10,000 Swing Challenge 

Hikes/Outdoor Adventures: 

  • Our plan is to do another hike that we travel too. I’m a sucker for Old Rag so I’d love to lead a group there again either in Spring or Fall (probably fall) of this year. Plus, plan another adventure. We have so many LOCAL hikes that someone leads each weekend. If you are not on the Band App, let me know. This is where all the updates are. Just know, once the new system is in place, we should have a member area for communication. 🙂 This is also the place where I’ll communicate any mountain biking, rock climbing, or any other crazy activity that I decide to do. 

Cooking Demos with Local Chefs:

  • I am already in communication with some local favorites. I will have dates when they become available.

STRONG 45:

  • We will NOT have a STRONG 45 CHALLENGE this year. We had originally planned it for February, however after multiple discussions, careful considerations and everything else that is going on, I know that I cannot give 110% with all the other changes that are happening. STRONG 45 will return in early 2026. 
  • HOWEVER, we are going to have an amazing NEW SERIES of EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS coming very soon! STAY TUNED! I am so pumped for this and so is the team!
